How do I delete an Outlook email address which is stored in the cache?

You may wish to delete an email address from Outlook desktop client you have sent to previously, particularly if that email address no longer exists, has changed or is incorrect in some way

If you want to stop an email address pre-populating when you start entering it into the To or CC field in an email, please follow the below guidance.

  1. In Microsoft Outlook, create a new email.
  2. In the 'To' Field start entering the email address in question

See example below, an 'x' will appear at the end of the address

         3. Click on that 'x' and it will remove it from the cache

You can then type in the address manually

If using Outlook Web App You will need to repeat the process and select the email address and press the delete key (the one next to end on most keyboards).
