How to check how much space you have left in your OneDrive storage

This article explains how to check how much space is available in your OneDrive and how much space is used by every file stored.

Check how much space is available in your OneDrive storage

1. Open a web browser and sign in to Microsoft 365

The email address you enter should be in the following format: username@soton.ac.uk (for example: ab1c24@soton.ac.uk)

2. Open OneDrive from the app launcher (the icon with 9 small squares)

3. At the bottom of the left-side sidebar menu, you will find a section called Storage telling you:

  • The amount of space used
  • The amount of space available for your account

Check how much space is used by every file stored in your OneDrive

1. Open a web browser and sign in to Microsoft 365

2. Open OneDrive from the app launcher (the icon with 9 small squares)

3. Select the Settings icon on the top-right corner, close to your account icon

5. From the sidebar menu, select More settings

6. Go to the section "Features and storage", then select Storage Metrics

The amount of storage you have remaining is shown in the top-right corner of the screen.
