By default Office365 WebApps default to an American date format (mm/dd/yyyy). This can be corrected by changing your Regional Settings within Office365 itself:

  • From inside Office365, click thetop-left icon (9 small white squares) and choose "OneDrive"
  • From the OneDrive menubar, click the cogwheel on the top right
  • Choose "Site Settings"
  • From the "Site Settings" screen | "Site Administration" section, choose the "Regional Settings" link
  • Set the Locale to "English (United Kingdom)"
  • Click "OK" (bottom right of screen) to save the setting
