To build a Business Capability Model (BCM) for the University requires relationships to be set between the Systems & Services provided and Business Capabilities. A set of Capabilities has been defined in ServiceNow based on a HE model. A BCM is a useful tool to support conversations with the Business on where we are providing IT services and what tools are used.
Open Systems & Services:
And open the Service you wish to add relations for.
Under Relationships click the relationship editor:
Select Provides (Child)... - it is important to select the correct relationship, otherwise the mapping will not be recognised:
To find only capabilities add a filter (and click Run Filter to apply):
Click the checkbox for the capability to relate to:
Click [+] to stage the relationship:
You can add multiple relationships if needed.
When you are happy with the relationships click Save and Exit to add them:
If you got everything right you should now have a relationship that the Services Provides the Capability:
