Can I restore content in my University OneDrive?
How do I request media to support my teaching or research?
Microsoft autogenerates the following folders, i.e. if you remove them they will return as soon as you start using the associated service again.
Folder Name | Description |
Apps |
This folder is created when you create a Form with a File Upload as a Q&A type. |
Attachments |
When you save an attachment from Outlook to your University OneDrive, the Attachments folder is created. |
Desktop |
Contains items on your desktop. This has been generated when you connect to the SVE and is likely to contain some "re-directed" links which will not work unless you re-connect. |
Documents |
This has been generated when you connect to the SVE and is likely to contain some "re-directed" links which will not work unless you re-connect. |
Documents > Custom Office Templates |
This folder can contain any personal templates that you have generated for Word, Excel and PowerPoint |
Microsoft Teams Data |
If you start any Teams meeting note then this is where they are stored in a subfolder called Wiki. |
OneNote Notebooks |
Contains your personal OneNote notebooks, the main one being called My Notebook. Note: you may find another notebook e.g. xxxx@university of Southampton stored outside of this folder |
Office Lens |
If you install the Microsoft Lens app as a separate app on your phone and select your University OneDrive as the storage place of choice, a new folder is created with your first image. |
Pictures |
This is the equivalent of the Pictures folder currently linked to Homestore. |
Pictures > Camera Roll |
When you connect your phone camera to OneDrive your pictures will be added to this folder. |
Recordings |
This folder will in the future store your Teams meeting recordings |
