How to add University Key Dates to my office 365 calendar

This article guides you on installing Calendar dates (including calendar and academic dates such as start / end of terms) and Governance dates (such as committee meetings and the dates of Senate) on Outlook and Apple Calendar.

How to find calendar and governance dates

University key dates are available from the Almanac SharePoint website.

You can view them online or import the list of events from an .ical file. Form Almanac you can download the following calendars of events:

  • Calendar dates
  • Governance dates
  • All Almanac dates (which include calendar and governance dates)

 

How to import the dates to Outlook for Windows 

1. Open the Almanac SharePoint website

2. Go to the section Downloadable (ical) copies of dates

3. Download the calendar you need by selecting one of the following buttons:

  • All Almanac dates
  • Calendar dates
  • Governance dates

3. From the new window, select the Download button

4. Open your Downloads folder

5. Double-click the .ics file downloaded. Files are called as follows: allitems.ics (All Almanac Dates), cditems.ics (Calendar Dates), gditems.ics (Governance Dates).

6. Outlook will open a new window. Now:

  1. Select the calendar where you want to import the dates
  2. Select Import

7. Close the window

The dates will be added to your Outlook calendar. Please note that the dates might take a while before appearing in your calendar. You might need to close and open again Outlook.
