Requesting IT equipment delivery

This article guides you to request to deliver IT equipment to a home UK address if you are unable to accept delivery to a University office location.

Delivery can be arranged only in exceptional circumstances at the cost to your department / faculty.

The following guidance is for staff and line managers requesting equipment for staff or visitors.

Requesting your equipment

You can request to receive your IT equipment only if you case sits under the following exceptional circumstances:

  1. Authorisation from your line manager
  2. Reasonable justification provided such as:
    1. illness
    2. distance
    3. frequency to site 

Requesting procedures

Before raising your request, please:

  1. Seek and receive approval from your line manager
  2. Obtain your 3-digit department / faculty billing code either:
    1. Contacting your main administrator, or
    2. Contacting the Post Room directly at postport@soton.ac.uk
  3. Add your contact details as described in the section "Contact details you need to add to your request"
  4. Send your request

To proceed with your request, iSolutions Stores will need your contacts.

While filling your request, please remember to add the following details:

  • 3 digit Department / Faculty billing code
  • Your email address
  • Your mobile or home phone number
  • Your full address 

What’s next

  1. iSolutions Stores will book this in the Post Room for home UK delivery.
  2. The Post Room will book courier request with DHL.
  3. Expect a 2-5 day delivery with text or email confirmation from the courier.
