How to connect mobiles and tablets to eduroam

You can connect your phone or tablet to eduroam using your University email and your password

eduroam works across all our campuses and in the Halls of Residence. If you are moving and you lose connection between sites, you will automatically be reconnected as soon as you get back in range.

How to connect your Android device

  1. Select ‘Wireless and networks
  2. Select ‘Wi-Fi
  3. Select the ‘eduroam’ network. If it is not listed then you are not near an eduroam wireless point and need to move to another location (more central University location).
  4. Complete the connection configuration as follow:
    1. EAP = PEAP
      b. Identity: enter your University username followed by @soton.ac.uk (for example: ab1c23@soton.ac.uk)
      c. Password: enter your University password
      d. CA certificate: chose ‘don’t validate’
      e. Under the ‘Advanced’ section: Phase 2 = MSCHAPV2
      f. ‘Anonymous Identity’ field: keep it blank
      g. Domain: enter 'soton.ac.uk'
  5. Select 'Connect'

You will now be connected to the eduroam wireless network. You should not need to re-enter your details until your iSolutions password is changed.
