Accessing SAP 2000 with a named user license

This article explains how to download and sign in to SAP 2000 v26. These instructions are intended for:

  • Common Learning Space (CLS) workstations located in Building 25 and Boldrewood
  • Staff who have installed the software from the Software Center through the shortcut on your desktop
  • Personal machines where the software has been installed from the University of Southampton Software Download Service  

At present, all students in Engineering Sciences will have access to this this.

Accessing SAP 2000 with a named user license

Downloading the application

You can run SAP 2000 v26 from any Common Learning Space (CLS) workstations located in Building 25 and Boldrewood.

Once downloaded, launch the installer and follow the next section.

Signing in to SAP 2000 v26

To access the software you will need to log in with you university email and password as follows:

  1. Launch the software
  2. You will see a window asking to sign in. Select the Sign in button:
    ""
  3. Enter your university email address in the format of username@soton.ac.uk (for example, ab1c25@soton.ac.uk):
    ""
  4. Select the Continue button
  5. You will be shown the University login window. Enter your university password
    ""
  6. The application might ask you whether you wan to stay signed in. Answer yes or no based on your needs 
  7. If the sign in process has been successful, you should see a message saying ' You have successfully signed in':
    ""

    If needed, the browser window can now be closed.
  8. If you do not have access to the software, you will see a message saying 'Sorry, but we're having trouble signing you in':
    ""

    If you do not have access to the software, please contact ServiceLine who can arrange access for you.
