Comsol for Students and Staff
Standalone version of Comsol for Students ONLY
Check the user is an undergraduate or taught postgraduate before issuing the software.
Add the username to jfSW_ComsolStudent2020-21_DownloadSite
This will allow the user to access Comsol from the download site
Close the request with the following:
“You should now have access to “Comsol Student Home_Use” on the software download site. Open the web page https://software.soton.ac.uk/software/30 and follow the instructions on this web page to install Comsol
PLEASE ONLY install this software on ONE machine. If you want it on more than ONE machine, please let SDS know.
If you cannot access the web page https://software.soton.ac.uk/software/30 please close your web browser and re-open it to clear the cache and try to open the web page again.”
The warning about installing on more than one machine is just to ensure that the user is not planning to install it on huge numbers of machines and take up all the student licenses. Such requests for extra machines should come to SDS
Comsol for Staff Only
All Staff and PostGraduate researchers have access to https://software.soton.ac.uk/software/38 they have to connect to the soton domain to use the university license manager. They are NOT entitled to a standalone version
