When you log back in after the upgrade, there will still be many back ground processes happening. Examples are local profile creation, software installations and patches and indexing. These can take a while to complete. Usually the bulk of the tasks should be complete within a day, and certainly within a week. The time that these tasks take depends on many different factors including how many applications you use whilst they are running.
