Blackboard not loading on Chrome

If you are unable to load Blackboard on Chrome using your personal device, it may be caused by your cookie’s settings.

What are cookies

Cookies are files created by websites that you visit. Websites use them to make your online experience easier by saving browsing information. For example, cookies are useful to:

  • Keep you signed in
  • Remember your site preferences
  • Give you locally relevant content.

Types of cookies

There are two types of cookies:

  • First-party cookies: they are created by the site that you visit. The site is shown in the address bar.
  • Third-party cookies: these cookies are created by other sites. The site you are seeing contains advertising or images own by other websites.

Step-by-step instructions

To fix this issue, please:

1. Select the Customize and Control (or “More settings”) icon More settings icon

2. Select the option Settings

Settings menu

3. Under 'Privacy and security', select Cookies and other site data

4. Select the option Block third-party cookies

By doing this, sites can use cookies to improve your browsing experience (for example, keeping you signed it to Blackboard) but they cannot use cookies to see your browsing activities.

5. Close the setting windows

6. Refresh Blackboard
