All.soton – How do I find a mailing list? Which mailing lists exist?

All.soton contains many automatically generated mailing lists (over 16,000 at the time of writing) organised into a hierarchical structure. To find a mailing list you can either use the search tool or browse all the lists.

Search for a mailing list.

To search for mailing lists matching a given name use the search box on the all.soton home page. Enter a search term (e.g., ‘nursing’) and click the ‘Search’ button. A list of matching results will be displayed.

Browse the available mailing lists.

Browse the mailing list hierarchy by visiting the “Mailing Lists” link in the navigation bar.

Using the drop-down links on the Mailing Lists navigation menu allows you to browse the hierarchy of lists in the university. From these pages you can see:

  1. Expandable categories of mailing lists for this point in the hierarchy.
  2. Subgroups of mailing lists that sit below this point in the hierarchy.
  3. Summary details about a mailing list – click for more details about the mailing list.
  4. A link to move up to the next level in the hierarchy.
