Prior to considering a bespoke specification computer purchase, please examine the standard and higher specification computer ranges – these computers are suitable for most tasks. If, however, you do need to request the purchase of bespoke specification computer equipment, you will need to complete a Bespoke Computer Request form

Before you begin:

• You will need to submit a works request to Estates and Facilities if the location in which the computer will be used does not have sufficient data and power outlets

You will require the following information:

• The supplier of the bespoke equipment required
• If possible, a link on a website to the specific item needed
• A full description of the item required, so that the order may be processed correctly
• All bespoke computer equipment is chargeable, and an Agresso Subproject Code will be required – all purchases will need to be authorised by your Faculty or Department’s Hardware Authoriser. The Hardware authoriser may require reasoning or a business case behind your request for a more expensive computing option

Once you Submit the form:

• You will receive at least three emails – one to state that the request has been created, a second that shows to whom it has been assigned, and a final message letting you know that the request has been fulfilled
• If you require Linux on a bespoke PC (instead of the standard University Windows build), please ensure that this requirement is added in the "Description / Specification" box on the form
